I have owned and operated a 1978 262C since 1984.the engine died in march 2001.294k miles showing,speedometer was broken for three years,so who knows the real milage.I bought a 1980 COUPE running two years ago,now the engine has gone sour.
Just starting to install a 1993 5.7lTrans AM engine and auto. Hope it works out good.I really like those cars,but that PRV engine is not the engine of choice.

I have been a volvo fan for years. I own six 262C volvos. I am presently working on building a crown limousine from three of my 262C coupes. It will look as if it was built by volvo except for the stained glass windows and the porsche 4.5 litre alum. V-8 engine. I will send pictures as soon as we complete the car.

Ik heb me net ingeschreven bij de members. Ben trotse bezitter van een 262c. De auto is volledig ontmanteld, de roest had reeds dapper zijn werk gedaan en ook de motor is gereviseerd.
Ik heb op deze, toch wel veel onthullende en mooie site, electrische schema's zien staan en vroeg mij af hoe ik daaraan kan komen.
Deze zijn, lijkt me, erg duidelijk geschetst met voldoende informatie over de diverse componenten.

Just want to say hi to everyone. I have just signed the
guest book. I own a 1980 262C in excellent shape with
80+k miles on the engine.
Well, without much driving the cylinder head gaskets
eventually started to leak. I took apart the engine
about two weeks ago and I am almost done in reassembling
the engine back together now. Withinn a week or so I
shall be able to drive it again.
My 262C nearly fooled an old lady a couple of years ago in
a gas station. She asked me if my car is a new line of
Volvo just came out. She could not believe it when I told
her it was a 1980 model.
I am kind of lucky that there is an auto junkyard not too
far from my neighborhood. They have quite a few Volvos
there including 260 and 760 models. I have been able to
get free replacement nuts and bolts in the process of
replacing the head gaskets. A few exhaust manifold nuts
were missing and two bolts were actually broken and had to
be replaced. It was a little tricky to get those broken
bolts out. I did not want to use any washers other than the
geniue Volvo ones. So I got quite a few of those from the
junked Volvos. Nuts and bolts are free from thhe junkyard.

Enjoyed the site very much even though I own a 245. I am looking for a nice set of the alloy wheels found on the 1989 780 Turbo and 1990 780's. They are referred to as "multi-x" or "diamond pattern". Volvo's part # is 13945936. Anyone have a set for sale or know where I can find a set? Think they would look awesome on my car. Thanks for any assistance.

Ik bezit sinds september 2000 een 262C, een Californische auto uit 1981. Een lust voor de ogen. Hij is zwart met beige leer en een B28F. Helemaal nog origineel.
Maar kreeg problemen met me motor, wat waarschijnlijk niet vreemd in oren klinkt.
Ik ben aan de slag gegaan met een vriend en heb de hele motor gereviseerd en de motor weer terug geplaatst.
Maar nu komt het probleem tijdens het reinigen van me blok en het vlakken en persen van de koppen zijn al me labels van het blok verdwenen.
De originele draadboom was ook gaar, deze heb ik zelf opnieuw moeten trekken.
Maar ik heb nu moeite om de gehele draadboom weer aan tesluiten. Ik heb een fantisch boek waar je een gehele 262C uit mekaar en weer in mekaar kan schroeven, maar de elektriciteit staat er slecht ingeschreven.

I had just purchased a 1980 Bertone 262C. The vehicle was in the first stages of restoration when the owner passed away. Unfortunately, the car was sold at an estate sale with some parts missing and no documentaion history. But, it is a nice looking Blue with Black leather interior. I just need to get the rust spots fixed as soon as possible. Plus, the engine had been pulled and just installed. The installation was incomplete and I don't know if it was a replacement B27F or the original B28F engine that was installed. If you have any way of identifying the engine, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a 1980 262c in light metalic blue, which is in need of attention, respray, headlights and some rust around the roof and rear windows, if anyone knows any good companys or people who specialize in this kind of thing, please let me know, as yet everyone I have contacted seems less than willing to help me. to be in order! i have checkt the fuses and cable-harness but can´t find some mather, can it maybe be the control unit? -What do you think has hapend???
The FAQ about the 262/26 is sort of useless. Would you like me to write something. I owned a 260 GLE Estate(UK) Wagon(US) for 5yrs. The B28E was atotal nightmare! Otherwise, I spent a lot on keeping her in good road condition but had to give up. The value of the car did not warrant the cost.
But, life is akimd of folly! Now, I am buying a 'Tre Kroner'. This will be worth spending the maintenance money on: won't it?

On the technicsl page you say B28E runs on unleaded fuel of 91 octane. Is this really correct for the high compression engine?
The sections from your web frame-page 'tech262.html' headed "Technical Information: Volvo 262 Coupe", says B27E needs min octane 95, but that B28E needs only 91 octane. Both engines have same stated compression ratio.
I hope this information is correct because I am just about to buy a B28E engined Bertone 262C in UK!

Great car this 262 C. I saw one in Delft (can often be spotted around the Nieuwe Langedijk), then I started searching the internet and found this great page. In the future I will buy one for sure! At this moment I'm just a poor student with a Volvo 340 DL. Keep up the good work!

Sweet memories! Een jaar geleden hebben we onze sublieme 740GL (1986, echte 120.000 km...) voor een habbekrats ingeruild voor een Mazda MX5, een fijne tweezits auto die helaas nu te klein begint te worden. Met heimwee denken we terug aan de tijd dat onze 740 ons probleemloos door Oost-Europa loodste toen ik daar 'gestationeerd' was. Een tank-zonder-weerga die je nooit in de steek liet; bijvoorbeeld een probleemloze start bij -33 graden Celsius. De MX gaat op redelijk korte termijn de deur uit: Volvo forever! Alvast maar eens voorzichtig naar 780's aan het uitkijken. Wie tips heeft voor goed onderhouden, betaalbare exemplaren: ik houd me aanbevolen!

Hoi, ik zag vrijdag 16-2-01 een 262C op de A1 vlakbij Amsterdam, Ik herkende al snel dat het een volvo was maar ik zag ook dat er iets niet klopte, dus ben ik er eens achter gaan rijden met m'n motor, toen zag ik dat het een 262 C was, ik kende dat model helemaal niet. Maar naast dat ie redelijk vies was vondt ik hem toch erg mooi. En dan dat er ook nog maar 6622 van gemaakt zijn vondt ik het helemaal leuk om hem eens een keer gezien te hebben. Ik ben zelf ook fan van Volvo, we hebben zelf een 740 gehad en hebben nu een 940, het zijn gewoon pracht auto's.
Ik hoop hem dus nog eens rustig te kunnen bekijken, misschien zie ik hem eens bij een benzine station of zo.

Do you know if the side fenders and bonnet on the Bertone 262C Volvo are the same as those on the 264/265 series, if so, what years 264/265 Volvo's should I look for to replace these parts?

Have recently purchased a 1988 780 Bertone, it is in beautiful shape. I will enjoy it for many years to come.
I just purchased a 1989 780 with a volvo stereo and graphic equalizer. However, the previous owner must have removed a CD player in the tunk or otherwise have taken out the radio. Does anyone know where to find a schematic for the wiring harness or manual explaining the hook up of the sound system. There are several wires in the back that are not connected and the sound system needs work. The tuner and equalizer appear to be in good shape. It is a volvo Tuner TD-6146 with an equalizer EO 6016. I would also appreciate any information on a CD player which would fit this dashboard. Is this one of the problems with having a very unique vehicle? Thank you all.
Daar ik pas een 360 GLT van 1983 gekocht heb zocht ik wat info over de L(E)-JECTRONIC zoals een bedradingsschema.
Slechts de LH-JECTRONIC te vinden op deze site, maar wat mooi helder en volledig!!
Ik zocht trouwens op welk pootje ik een storingslampje kon aansluiten, ik weet dat het kan, er zijn merken die dat standaard hebben, de Ljectronic's zijn globaal gelijk.
Ik zoek nog maar even verder...
Of iemand mag het doormailen als die het toevallig wel weet!
Ik geloof dat Opel zo'n lampje heeft...?
