I own an '89 780 w/B 280 V6 that currently has 324,xxx and runs like a sewing machine, EXCEPT; periodically it will stop running altogether.  I let it sit for 25-60 min and it will restart.  Just completed a 1,ooo mile move to Gig Harbor, Wa from Salt Lake City, Ut and ran beautifully and never skipped a beat.  Now it will pause when starting up like it is missing or hits a flat spot.  Have replaced the main fuel pump, all fuel sensors and am asured the prime pump in the tank is also ok.  What's going on? Ik heb vorige week een 262C in Dld aangekocht.
Aangezien ik me nu wat meer wil orienteren ben ik uiteraard naar de site van de 262 gegaan, maar de link naar "Technical Support and partlinks werkte niet.

Hi guys, im 25 and own a 1980 262c RHD. I absolutely love this car to bits. It has been fully restored with a few modifications such as Modern black bumpers, re sprayed in a metallic Silver colour with a slight blue Pearl through it aswell as 17inch simmons wheels, lowered 1 and a half inches and has been stripped of all badges! I drive this car to work every morning and other motorists are constantly pulling me up at the lights asking me if it is a Volvo! The police also like having a chat aswell! My advice to anyone owning a bertone 262c is to hold onto it and spend a bit of time restoring it because it comes up a treat! Its the best looking Volvo going around!

All,
I've never seen a Volvo Coupe before, so after finding one in a local scrapyard, I'm delighted to find that this car has it's own fan club!

I suspect the yard owner knows he has an unusual car - it is off to one side, not in line for the crusher.   If anyone wants to follow up this sighting, I'll gladly give you details.

At the present time I have a 1980 Coupe'. Before this I drove a 1978 262C for 18 years,two engines installed,two paintings (silver)322,000 miles, but I would never do that again with the original engine.To expensive to repair and it will need repairing,reguardless of the proper maintainence.
I liked the car very much,and keep spending to heep the engine,but I should have listened to the Volvo machanics and changed it to a turbo.
Oh well! Hind sight is 20 --20

I now own my 1978 262C Bertone for 1 month and I'm liking it more and more every day. I remember the 262C being showed on a Rotterdam car show in 1978 and visiting that show with some family. I became in love with this car and the feeling of over being an owner never let me go. For daily use I drive a 2003 Audi A4 Avant 3.0 Quattro but believe me, driving the 262C is more fun and pleasure than driving that modern german piece of mass production. The 262C 'talks' to me during trips and however the technique is far from perfect, the feeling you get in the 262C is not easy to describe. The 262C makes you tampered in stressy periods, it is asking to be driven easy and smoothly instead of the Audi asking me to force it to the limits. I think other 262C owners know what I mean.

I am the proud owner of a 1979 Volvo 262C with 67,000 original miles.  For me, the Volvo 262C Bertone is a perfect combination of style, elegance, luxury and sporting character coupled with a rich and exotic history.  It's a pleaure to read how others feel as I do.  I take great pride in driving this beautiful, very distictive car and sincerely enjoy the attention she receives.  I honestly think that the Volvo line of cars today would greatly benefit from another limited production creation by Volvo and Bertone.

Congratulations, I've learnt a lot of informations about the 780. I bought one recently, in perfect confition, a model of 1990 with the 16 s Turbo engine and 4+1 gearbox. Surprisingly, there is a small curiosity in the registration code. The letter for the year is a O. All the rest is correct with 9816 as  final chassis number.

I own a 1979 262c. Need to replace cyclinder sleeve on engine. Car has not been driven since 1986. Car has a few rust spots around front window. Orignal mileage on engine is 88000 miles. I would like to resore to original condition. Possible needs to accomplish this end are:

New or Rebuilt Engine
panel cover over front wipers
Rear brake ligt circuit board
original radio
4 aluminnium alloy wheels

Where do I start? The original paint is metallic gold. The interior is beige leather and gold matting on floor. My wife loves this car! I love this car! All suggestions and comments are welcomed. Thank.

I hope it is OK to ask advise here.  I have a 262C Bertone Coupe Siver/black.  It needs some work , but  overall is  in sound  condition.  What is the future for this car as an investment.  Is it worth repairing and keeping garaged.  I love the car, but amtempted to sell it because of the repair cost. Is it worth keeping the car for future  financial value?Thanks for yourr time.

Heb je ook technische info over de 780 200ET (1987)
Ik moet het CO afregelen (APK geweigerd). Zit er een CO-stelschroef in het huis van de luchtweger boven op het luchtfilter?
Of heeft deze schroef een andere functie?
Is het Co wel af te regelen?
