Hi folks,
I just picked up a 1991 780, trying to spruce her up a bit. Part of that is trying to install a working stereo (when I got it, the CD changer and amp weren't working, rear speakers gone).
Trying to run wires to install an amp in the trunk. Aside from the rear seat bench being a bear (looks like someone bent the front hooks up, having a heck of a time getting the passenger side to release -- I assume this is like most Volvos, you push the bench in and pull up....?) curious to know if anyone has done this, and has info on pulling the rear side panels. The screws are well hidden, and it looks a bit invasive. Definitely do not want to just pry at stuff (looks like the previous owner did too much of that already so any assistance, diagrams would be appreciated.
Also, does anyone know of a source of a good 780 service manual that would cover interior and body stuff? I'm spoiled by usually having service manuals around, but it doesn't look like the usual suspects (Haynes, Bentley) published a manual for these cars.
Many thanks, bruce t |

Hi Bruce, I think there are some service manual references on the site, I believe you can reaquest specific service points emailed to you if you request them... I just bought a 91 myself a couple of months ago, needed a lot of going over but it seems to run well, uses more gas than i'm used to on my 7 and 940's, just put it on the road last week, rare and unique car for sure........
